I only knew Clive for a couple of years after he knocked on my door for a jar of honey!
We chatted about honey bees, flowers and wildlife for ages on the doorstep before Clive gave a cheery wave goodbye, clutching a jar of honey and a date set for some honey bees to take up residence in the paddock behind Fairlea.
I will miss our chats. No matter what you talked about, Clive had a genuine interest. And those moments were filled with his wonderful smile, humour and pleasure being in his company.
The last time I saw Clive was only a few weeks ago at Fairlea.
I knocked on the door and gave Clive a jar of honey.
We chatted on the doorstep and this time it was me waving a cheery goodbye after a warm hug.
In mythology, honey bees were seen as communicators carrying messages from heavens to humans. I would like to think that the girls will be sending their love to you Clive.
May you rest in peace.
